5,000,000 $ in funding for our clients, since 2020
86% success rates
In our mission to help community organizations serve their communities as best they can, while ensuring organizational and individual wellbeing, we cannot deny the central role funding plays. Given the limited time organizations have to develop projects and programs from scratch and write funding applications, alongside the exceptional project planning and writing talent of our team members, we seek to assist our clients in accessing funding whenever possible. We believe that for a grant application to be successful, the writer must have a deep understanding and appreciation for the project. As such, we always offer the option to help co-create grant applications, including timelines, budgets, work packages, and milestones. We can also write letters of support for partners. Over the past three years, we have obtained 5,000,000 $ in funding for clients, with a success rate of 86%.
For grant writing, we have two general ways of initiating projects: either clients contact us directly to seek our advice on whether we believe they should apply for a specific grant and if we can help, or we bring up pertinent funding opportunities to our clients. In either case, we only accept to work on projects in which we are fully committed and confident, which is the key to our extremely high success rate. Once a grant is found, our process is as follows:
A start-up meeting is held between pertinent staff and our grant writer. During this meeting, we look over how the organization envisions the application, which can involve a simple visioning process of what projects it would like to undertake, can the grant be used for them, or is there something new we can develop within the scope of the grant.
We then request any pertinent documents the organization has that can help us in the writing process, including past grant applications, project reports, AGM reports, evaluations, statistics, etc.
From here, we take the information provided by the client in our start-up meeting, documentation, and any subsequent meeting, to craft a draft narrative for the grant. This step is a basic outline of what we are applying for, what it means for the organization, very preliminary budget and requirements, etc.
Once we get the go-ahead from the client, we then write out the full grant application.
The draft application is then sent to the client to receive feedback, which we implement iteratively. As with all our approaches, it is important that the client have ownership of the proposed project and see themselves in it.
We are generally extremely reactive to requests to write grant applications, given their timely nature.

Hourly rate of the dedicated consultant
We generally estimate, including project and program co-development, approximately 500.00 $ for small grants, 1,500.00 $ for mid-sized grants (7-10 pages), and 4,000.00 $ for large grants (15-25 pages). Costs can be significantly reduced (approximately 50%) if we have an existing baseline, such as a reapplication or a similar grant.
